Concrete pavers come in a huge range of colours, shapes and sizes, often mimicking natural stone and are very durable. Clay pavers have a classic look, offer rich colours that don’t fade easily and are also very strong. Both are great options; the choice often comes down to aesthetic preference and budget.
Tree roots definitely need consideration! During site assessment, we use our landscaping expertise to check for significant roots. Depending on the situation, options might include careful pruning, installing root barriers (drawing on our expert softscaping knowledge), or adjusting the layout slightly. Addressing roots properly from the start is key.
Proper installation with minimal gaps is the first step. We use stabilising jointing sand that hardens to deter weeds. Combining this with professional garden edging along the borders provides excellent weed control. Sealing can also offer extra protection, especially in damp spots.
Not all pavers are rated for driveway use. Driveways require pavers with specific thickness and strength, laid on a much deeper, more robust base than pedestrian paths or patios, to handle the weight and movement of vehicles. We always use driveway-suitable pavers and construction methods, drawing on our structural landscaping services experience.
